To answer that question--it stands for Business and Marketing Consulting. I aim to serve the Quad Cities area...and beyond [bonus points if you read that in a Buzz Lightyear voice!]. I'm Abby Rock, and my mission is to use my 15+ years of experience in the marketing and business world to help local businesses thrive! I want to empower your company to reach its full potential: providing expert guidance, innovative solutions, and marketing and advertising budget management and organization along the way. I'm committed to helping my clients succeed and flourish in today's competitive marketplace.
I understand that not every small business has a marketing department, and not all owners or managers have business operations and marketing expertise. This is where I come in!
Whether you are looking for a one-off project, contracted work, or are looking for a monthly consultant instead of hiring your own marketing team...BAM, you're in the right place!
This is where my mother would tell you an old story [shout out, Mom!] about how I when I was a small child I somehow convinced our neighbors to buy flowers and rocks...that I'd gotten from their own yards. Or about the time in elementary school when I bought a bag of popcorn for $0.25, ate half of it, and sold it to a friend for $.50 on the bus ride home--that's called R.O.I. folks! Really, this is just to say sales and marketing chose me, I just accepted that calling.
After graduating with my Bachelors of Business in Marketing, with a minor in Finance, I moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and worked for the brand new [at the time] Omni Fort Worth Hotel in the Sales, Marketing, & Events department. When I moved back to the QC for the first time, I began working in advertising sales. I enjoyed finding the best placements for my clients, helping them put campaigns together, and helping them with the copywriting and creative, if needed. Then, I got the opportunity to move to LA and continue working in the advertising industry out West.
**This is where my consulting truly began! Multiple clients from here in the QCA would still reach out asking for assistance with their marketing, even though I was across the country. This was when my passion for helping local businesses really became apparent to me.
Since my stint in the sun, I've moved back to the QC. I proudly served as the Director Of Marketing for Necker's Jewelers for over a decade. [Team Neckers forever!] Throughout this time, I've continued consulting on the side, but now it's time to follow my passion and make it my main focus, professionally.
I've consulted in the auto industry, the financial sector, the jewelry industry, the HVAC industry, the home improvement and property management field, the pet care industry, the health and beauty care industry, and have done numerous one-off projects for others. I love a challenge and learning new things--so even if you don't see your field on this list, bring it on!
Apart from my professional background, which you can read about above, I am a proud mama (both human children and fur baby), community supporter, and family lady.
My daughter, Charlie, is in 4th grade--we love doing artsy stuff together and singing Taylor Swift songs as loud as possible (don't worry, mostly in the car). My son, Brooks, is in 1st grade, and is my little sour patch kid, always trying to break something or himself, but the sweetest thing...when he chooses. We also have an Olde English Bulldoge named Stitch, he is our family's main love.
I'm an animal lover to my core--if you have an animal in the vicinity, I must pet it [apparently this is a hereditary trait, both kids are exactly the same way--to a painful, and sometimes embarrassing extent, honestly].
I am an avid sports fan--some of these teams have taught me how to handle disappointment [some of them a lot] throughout the years. I've also gotten to triumph in some awesome victories as well, while I yell at the t.v. This probably clues you in as to who I root root root for.
I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, I am a bonified true crime junkie, I'm fond of anything that lets me be artistic, love cooking, interior design, and all things Disney or comic related. If you were to swing by the house, you'd likely catch our family playing a rousing game of Disney Trivial Pursuit, heckling each other, and enjoying every second...ahhh bonding.
